Hate Spandex? There's A Third Option, And It's Not Your Regular Shorts
If you're riding for the ride and not the podium, read this first.
I started gravel biking at 45. No bibs, no Lycra — I'm not chasing anyone down a hill. But regular shorts ride up and bunch by the 40-minute mark, and you spend the whole ride adjusting them. Racing costume or uncomfortable. I thought those were the only two options. Turns out there's a third.
1. Regular shorts give up even before you do
They aren't just built for the saddle. No liner and seams in the wrong spot means you'll be riding north every time you pedal. Fine for a quick spin to the shops, but miserable around the second hour.
2. You're not racing, so why dress like it
Let's be real. The spandex makes sense with a number pinned on. Most of us just wants a ride and a coffee at the turnaround without having to look like we're a part of a peloton.
3. The liner does the quiet work

Do I wear anything underneath?
No. The compression liner replaces underwear entirely — that's the whole design. Briefs underneath put back exactly the seams the liner exists to remove.
Will they fade?
The ink is sublimated into the fibre, not printed on top, so there's nothing on the surface for sweat or sun to strip. Rinse cold, air dry. Our oldest reviews go back to March 2018.
