Picking a length mostly comes down to how much leg you want on show, and a 7 inch pair gives you the most leg of our three lengths.
Stepping up from a 5 inch. Wear a 5 inch pair now and want more leg? A 7 inch inseam carries the hem further down the leg, and the sizing works the same way: by waist.

Where to start. For a plain solid, Cookie Black keeps it simple in black. Fluro Aqua brings a vivid aqua, and Mirage Red lays red giraffe markings over a deeper red. Faded Ocean is an ocean-blue gradient. For a green that passes for everyday shorts, Khaki Green comes in an olive tone.

Just Above the Knee: Fit at a Glance
A 7 inch inseam is 17.8 cm of leg, the longest of our three. Your build moves the exact point a little, but the hem finishes above the kneecap, not on it.
Next to the shorter cuts. Our 5 inch cut stops at mid-thigh and our 3 inch cut ends well above the knee, so the 7 inch gives you the lowest hem of the three.
Size by waist. Your size comes from your waist, not from your height or the inseam. Measure around your natural waist, then find the matching row on our swim trunk size chart.
Five sizes. Every 7 inch style comes in S/30 to XXL/38.
The numbers. Per our size chart, waists (in inches) run 29 to 31, 31 to 33, 33 to 35, 35 to 37 and 37 to 39 across the five sizes. Front rise grows with each size: 10.5, 11, 11.5, 12 and 12.5 inches.
Right on the edge? The chart's ranges meet at the edges, so a 31 inch waist sits in both S/30 and M/32. Pick M for a relaxed feel or S for a snug hold.
Stretch Outside, Mild Compression Inside
Two layers share the work in every 7 inch pair.
Outside. On the outside, 4-way stretch lets the outer layer give as you kick and climb, and that layer is a polyester and spandex blend.
Inside. Like all our compression lined swim trunks, every 7 inch pair carries the Aqua-Liner. It's made from swim material that feels soft and stretchy, with mild compression. It eliminates chafing, and it means you can swim without underwear.
Together. Each layer is flexible, comfortable and quick-dry.
Pockets and waist. Most styles have zip pockets for your keys and a card, and a few Luxe styles have open side pockets. Most styles tie with a drawstring at the front over a half-elastic back, and a few Luxe styles close with a zip and button.
Small details. Most styles finish the drawstring with gold Tucann pendants and carry a raised Tucann logo. The prints use Italian ink, which is fade-proof and holds up to chlorine and salt water.

Where does a 7 inch inseam hit, at the knee or above it?
Above it. The hem ends just above the knee, so a 7 inch pair is a touch shy of knee length. The inseam measures 7 inches, or 17.8 cm. Your build shifts the exact spot, so check the model photos on a product page to see where the hem falls.
Is a 7 inch inseam too long for swim trunks?
Not if you like a longer leg. It's the longest of our three lengths, and the hem stays above the knee, so it stops short of the joint. If you want less leg, our 5 inch pair ends at mid-thigh and our 3 inch pair sits well above the knee.
Are 7 inch swim trunks a good length for tall guys?
