A day in the water takes three things: a fit you can adjust, quick-dry fabric and pockets that close.
Swimming and water sports. One customer wore a pair in the water and then on a bike ride of more than 20 miles. An adjustable waistband lets you set the fit, from laps to a boat day.
Beach outings. One customer packs no other trunks for vacations; another lives in Maui and wears a pair as everyday clothing.
Poolside. Reviewers mention compliments at the pool and the beach resort, often about the color.

What it's made of. Two layers on every pair: an outer layer of polyester and spandex with 4-way stretch, and the Aqua-Liner beneath it.
How quick-dry works. Both layers are quick-dry.
How 4-way stretch works. Dive in, climb a boat ladder, kick a ball on the sand or sit cross-legged, and the trunks move with you instead of pulling.
Care. Hand wash only.

For trunks that sit snug without digging in, choose your size by your waist measurement, then pick the fit you like. Measure around your natural waist, where you usually wear jeans, pants or shorts, with the tape snug but not tight. Match that number to the swim trunk size chart.
Expect a supportive feel: the Aqua-Liner sits close to your body rather than hanging loose.

Pair after pair. One customer is about to order a third pair; another owns five and wears them in oceans and lakes. One customer has built a collection of 10 Tucann trunks. Another is on a 5th pair after getting hooked last summer.

Swim trunks and swim shorts are two names for the same thing, and the terms are used interchangeably. Board shorts are a different style. If you're deciding between them, see swim trunks vs board shorts.

The collection runs from plain solids to loud prints. Fluro Aqua is a bright aqua, Cookie Black a plain black and Mirage Red a two tone red giraffe print. Cookie Black also comes in 7 inch swim trunks and 3 inch swim trunks.
One customer says a partner loves the Fluro Aqua color. Another, buying a third pair, finds the color and length choices vast.
Reviewers also order matching sets with a partner from His & Hers Matching Swimwear.

Every pair has two layers, and the inner one is the Aqua-Liner, our compression liner. It's made from swim material: soft and stretchy, with mild compression, and quick-dry like the outer layer.
What it does for you. The liner inside is comfortable, says one customer; another describes it as soft and not scratchy.
Read our liner guide, or browse men's swim trunks with a compression liner.
Tucann designs every pair in house, in Australia. The trunks are hand-stitched. Air release vents and a tapered leg come on every pair.
The waistband. Most styles tie at the front over an elastic back, except some Luxe pairs, which fasten with a button and zip.

One customer wears the 7 inch with confidence, knowing nothing is needed underneath. One customer likes that the fit has no extra fabric hanging loose. One customer says the color pops and there's enough stretch for the gym. One customer has bought eight 3 inch pairs and gets compliments on vacation.
Some of our prints come as matching sets, so two of you can wear one pattern. Wild Splatter Pink is made as a bikini and as 5 inch trunks, and so is Neon Orchid Electric.
One reviewer picks each new pair to match a partner's bikini.
Another, already set on green, orange and black splatter pairs, plans a matching set for the two of them.
A third says the two of them get compliments every time they wear their matching suits.
Tucann trunks go wherever the day takes you, from a lake to a cruise deck.
Lakes and resorts. One customer wore a pair to the lake with friends and family. Another got compliments at a resort pool in Las Vegas.
At sea. A reviewer bought three pairs for a sailing trip to the Bahamas. Another reviewer bought a pair for a partner to take on a cruise.
Gym and beach. One reviewer works out at the gym in them, then heads to the beach.
A day afloat. One customer finds them comfortable all day on the water.
Around the world. Reviews come in from the US, Australia, Canada, Germany and the UK. A reviewer in Quebec takes a pair on winter trips south and to the spa.
Our outer fabric is light and stretchy, and reviewers notice.
One customer calls these the most comfortable pair of trunks ever worn.
Another likes that the material is light and the liner does its job.
A reviewer aged 51 wears a 5 inch pair and can't stop wearing them.
Reviews show how people of different builds chose a size. Use them as a guide, then check the size chart.
Our chart runs from S/30 to XXL/38.
Each letter matches a waist size, so an L is a 34, not a 36.
An L fits a 33 to 35 inch natural waist.
The chart gives every waist in inches and centimeters, and it covers women's and kids' sizes too.
One customer, 6 foot 1 and 200 lbs, picked an XL.
Another at 6 foot 1 and 205 lbs wears an L.
The first of those reviewers suggests a size smaller if you dive, so the pair stays on.
One customer at 200 lbs found the L a little loose at the waist.
Another would pick the next size down for a closer fit.
Buying for a partner. Several reviews come from partners buying for someone else. One customer bought a pair for a husband, who now says no other brand will do. Another says a partner asked for more soon after the first pair. If you're buying for someone, a waist measurement from a pair they already own is a good start. If you can't check, the size chart page suggests the 5 inch, which ends at mid-thigh. Buying matching sets? Size each person on their own.
Our prints are made to stand out.
Each one goes down in fade-proof Italian ink.
One customer has had many compliments on a Mirage Red pair.
Another owns three pairs now and gets compliments on all of them.
A third heard plenty of praise while in the Caribbean.
Compliments turn up in reviews of every length.
They're swim trunks with a close-fitting liner inside. On every Tucann pair that liner is the Aqua-Liner, made from soft, stretchy swim material that gives mild compression. It sits close to your body as you swim. One reviewer who always wore unlined board shorts now calls these the go-to pair.
Reviewers bring up the compression liner in our men's swim trunks across all three lengths. One customer says the inner liner keeps everything where it needs to be. Another finds the liner very comfortable and likes the tapered legs too.
Yes. Every Tucann men's swim trunk, in 3, 5 and 7 inch, has the Aqua-Liner built in. It sits under the 4-way stretch outer layer, so switching lengths doesn't change the feel. One 3 inch reviewer says the liner gives good support.
The outer shell is polyester and spandex with 4-way stretch. Under it sits the Aqua-Liner, which is swim material, soft and stretchy with mild compression. The trunks are quick-dry inside and out. One reviewer calls the fabric moisture wicking and says the waistband cord feels solid, not like the cheap kind that frays.
None. The two terms mean the same garment. Board shorts are a different style, and our page on swim trunks vs board shorts explains how. Our size chart page uses one chart for both names. Whichever name you use, the Tucann range comes in 3, 5 and 7 inch lengths.
Go by your natural waist and the swim trunk size chart. Reviews on fit are mixed: some customers sized down for a snugger feel, while others say to size up when between sizes. The size finder on that page asks a few quick questions and suggests a size.
Most do. Certain Luxe pairs swap them for open side pockets and fasten at the front with a button and zip. Reviewers like the zips, though one customer says the pockets could be deeper. On most styles, the zip pockets are sand-proof.
Yes to both. Every layer is quick-dry, and one customer in Florida says they wear a pair around the clock. After a day at the beach, our care page suggests a rinse under a shower or tap to clear the sand. Then lay the pair flat in the shade to dry.
At Tucann, an XL is a 36 waist and suits a natural waist of 35 to 37 inches. XXL, a 38, is the next size up, and L, a 34, sits one below. If your tape lands between L and XL, the chart points you up for a looser feel or down for a closer fit.
